Street Photography Workshop in Italy: CHASING PALERMO - FEB 13, 14, 15
Join me in Italy for a three-day street photography workshop in the historic city Palermo, Sicily. During this course, you’ll immerse yourself in this beautiful, yet complex and layered city, while developing your skills in documentary and observational street photography.
This workshop is centred around learning how to see. You’ll explore how to recognise potential photographic situations while they unfold, learn to craft your storytelling, how to move around your subjects, and how to quickly set up your camera to get the picture you want.
For this urban photography workshop, I’m working together with Palermofoto, a local photography school, a wonderful learning center housing a lively photography community in the city.

“During the workshop, Julie was friendly, patient and open to all kinds of questions.
She also inspired us with her unique perspective in the street, refreshing my own
understanding of street photography. I would recommend her workshop to everyone
who’s interested in street photography, whatever level you are at.” - Gongbu Han, participant of Museumplein workshop
“Julie’s street photography workshop was relaxed and informative. It gave me a real boost to get back out on the streets with my camera. Julie shared great tips and examples to help find new inspiration and get clearer on what exactly I want to photograph on the street. That had been simmering for a while, but this workshop definitely gave me a push in the right direction!”
- Paula van den Akker, participant of Central Station to Nieuwmarkt workshop
